Witt, Thunderbirds Get 1-0 Win | The Seattle Thunderbirds went home winners at Bulls Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Johnny Witt. Witt stifled the Houston Bulls, enabling Seattle to grab the 1-0 win. Charlie Potter notched his 3rd save in 5 chances. The Thunderbirds go to 37-58 with the win.
Witt, a native of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, was dealing all game. He kept Houston hitters off-balance, while giving the Thunderbirds 7 quality innings. Witt threw 96 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 5.
"That's baseball," said Houston manager Jerry Wilcher. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours." | |
