| Montreal Loses, 3-2, to Milwaukee in 14 | In a low-scoring contest between the Milwaukee Arrows and the Montreal Saints, Tex Cavanaugh was the X factor. The Milwaukee right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Bud Andrews earned the save for Milwaukee, his 1st. With the loss, Montreal is 1-1.
Harry Edwards, who finished 5th in the CA in extra base hits with 56 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Edwards contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 14th inning to put Milwaukee up, 3-2.
"That's baseball," said Montreal manager Harry Barrell. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours." | |
