| Wolves Lose to Kings, 8-2 | The first-place Kansas City Kings took on the Toronto Wolves in front of a spirited crowd.
Kansas City Kings starter Gene Bailey pitched a strong game against the Toronto Wolves at Prairie Park, leading the Kings to victory, 8-2. Bailey, who leads the CA in complete games with 11, went the distance for Kansas City. He gave up 2 runs on 10 hits.
In the bottom of the sixth, Kansas City catcher Bob Burge had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Burge stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 4-1, Kansas City. For the game, he was 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Gene pitched like a champ," said Kansas City manager Glenn Carney.
