| Dynamos 2, Gothams 1 | In a low-scoring contest between the Detroit Dynamos and the New York Gothams, Bob Reed was the X factor. The Detroit right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. The winner was Reed. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Curtis Robinson. Earning his 2nd save for Detroit was Charlie Christianson.
Detroit used a timely hit from Jim Wilson to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dynamos ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.
"We found a way to win tonight," Wilson said.
The win makes Detroit 26-54, nothing to write home about.
