| Cannons Rebuff Imperials, 3-2 | In a low-scoring affair between the Cincinnati Cannons and the New York Imperials, pitcher Jack Turner was the difference between victory and defeat. The Cincinnati left-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Cannons win. The winning pitcher was Turner, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 6 and fanning 6. At 33-51, the Cannons find themselves in last place in the Continental Association East.
Center Fielder Frank Bradshaw made an impact for Cincinnati, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Joe Velazquez in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Bradshaw went 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Cannons manager Charlie Britton. | |
