| Forrester Lifts Suns to 6-2 Triumph | The Los Angeles Suns trumped the St. Louis Pioneers, 6-2, at Wilshire Park. Los Angeles right fielder Sam Forrester was terrific. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The winner was Los Angeles reliever Jim Perrin, now 2-2. The loser was Tige Bowe. Los Angeles goes to 49-33. The win puts them 6½ games up in their division.
There was more than one reason the Suns beat the Pioneers, but Forrester's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Forrester after the game.
