| Stars Rally For Late Win Over Cougars | In a low-scoring game between the Los Angeles Stars and the Chicago Cougars, pitcher Dewey Allcock was the difference-maker. The Los Angeles right-hander was tough as nails in the 3-1 Stars win. Los Angeles now has a record of 23-17 with the win.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Ralph Barrell to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stars on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Allcock said.
