| Minutemen Down Chiefs, 6-4 | Chicago catcher Al Padgett had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-4, to Boston at Minuteman Stadium. Padgett was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Boston is now 52-71, Chicago 61-60.
Had Rick Masters not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Masters hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Minutemen.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Masters said after the game.
