The Washington Eagles picked up a win at Thompson Field, knocking off the Detroit Dynamos, 5-2. Starting pitcher Jim Stewart was a big reason why. "I had a good feeling about this game even before we took the field," Weatherbee, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1954 draft, told the Washington Herald. "I'm glad it wasn't just gas."
