Eagles Earn Late 2-1 Win | The Detroit Dynamos were defeated, 2-1, by the Washington Eagles at Thompson Field, even though Paul Anderson pitched well for Detroit. Otto Caudill came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 11-6. The Eagles, at 61-37, have now won 6 straight.
George Whaley, who is tied for 3rd in the FA in RBI with 73, had a direct impact on the outcome. Whaley contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the eighth inning to put Washington up, 2-1.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Washington manager Roger Cleaves. | |
