A 4-RBI performance from the two-time All-Star Bill Austin helped the Detroit Dynamos beat the Houston Comets, 9-2. The last-place Dynamos own a record of 24-52.

In the bottom of the first, Austin had a 3-run home run for Detroit. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Dynamos on top, 3-0.

"That was not our best effort," said Houston skipper Glenn Carney.
