| Mavericks Win with Late Rally | Fans who congregated at Norris Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.
Dallas wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Larry Perry, falling to the Kansas City Mavericks, 5-4. Perry threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Jack Turner, now 4-7, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0.
Bobby Frost delivered a big hit for Kansas City. The catcher drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Mavericks ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Frost.
The Mavericks go to 31-49 with the win. | |
