Moreland Leads Miners to Win
The Pittsburgh Miners topped the Boston Minutemen, 8-5, at Fitzpatrick Park. Pittsburgh shortstop John Moreland was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. George Kollock, who is tied for 3rd in the FA in saves with 16, earned the save for Pittsburgh. The last-place Minutemen have lost 4 straight games.

Moreland contributed in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was one at-bat among others that helped Pittsburgh get the win.
