| Foresters Grind Out 2-0 Win | In a low-scoring contest between the Cleveland Foresters and the New York Imperials, Juan Solorzano, who is tied for 6th in the CA with a 2.40 ERA, proved to be the difference. The Cleveland right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-0 Foresters win. Charlie Sawyer notched his 3rd save in 4 chances. The setback makes New York 40-36.
Cleveland shortstop Herb Reed contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a screwball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 84th hit of the season and put the Foresters ahead, 2-0.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Solorzano. | |
