Eagles Topple Minutemen with Late Rally
The Washington Eagles weathered an outstanding game by Boston second baseman Clarence James to topple the Minutemen, 10-8. James was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Bill Ashley picked up his 3rd save of the season. The Eagles improved their record to 56-37 with the win over Boston.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Jimmy Brown came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Boston pitcher Bob Hollister, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Washington on top, 10-8.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Brown told the Washington Observer. "It's as simple as that."
