| Arrows Score Late, Clip Saints, 4-3 | The Milwaukee Arrows locked up a win at Lakefront Park, knocking off the Montreal Saints, 4-3. On the mound for Milwaukee was right-hander Mel Maddox. He played a major role in the triumph. Milwaukee is now 41-30, 4½ games up in the Continental Association East.
The decisive blow was delivered by Jay Dynes in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Johnny Lyon to win the game for Milwaukee. The home crowd went nuts.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Maddox told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
