| Wolves Beat Chicago, 5-4 | Both teams had their chances, but the Toronto Wolves eventually prevailed.
The Toronto Wolves topped the Chicago Cougars, 5-4, in Continental Association action at Cougars Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Toronto pitcher George Hoxworth. The save went to Whitey Stewart, number 14 for him.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Rocky Stone to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wolves on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Toronto manager Jake Beck said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
Toronto is now 43-66.
