Foresters Get Past Cincinnati, 5-4
Cincinnati wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ike Hawley, falling to the Cleveland Foresters, 5-4. Hawley threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. Charlie Sawyer, now 5-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The Foresters improved their record to 32-37 with the win over Cincinnati.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Cleveland trailing 4-3, Reggie Anderson hit a cutter from Earl White to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Foresters had a walk-off win.

"This place went bonkers at the end," Anderson said.
