Cannons Win Squeaker, 4-3, Over Foresters
The Cincinnati Cannons besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Cleveland shortstop Cecil Cummings by beating the Foresters, 4-3, at Forester Stadium. Cummings was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The 'W' lifts Cincinnati's record to 53-51.

Cincinnati used the clutch hitting of Tommy Allenby to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cannons ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

Allenby said his team "played with determination."
