| Miller Lifts Keystones to 5-3 Triumph | The Philadelphia Keystones topped the Pittsburgh Miners, 5-3, with right fielder Buddy Miller playing a big role. Miller belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Keystones in the win. Joe Kienle, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 13-5. Don McKeown sewed up the save, his 19th.
Miller contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Philadelphia in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Miller took a changeup from Ed Power and stroked the home run to center. His 28th home run of the season allowed the Keystones to leap in front, 5-3.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Miller.
The Keystones are now 62-42, while the Miners fall to 43-64.
