| Imperials Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally | Cincinnati wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ace Barrell, falling to the New York Imperials, 5-3. Barrell threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Mike Dunlavy earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 5-2. New York has now won 4 games in a row.
New York used a clutch hit from Freddy Curtis to get the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Imperials ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Curtis told the New York Bulletin.
