John Kingsbury, who finished 4th in the CA in triples with 11 in 1965, starred for San Francisco. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Bert Alexander, who is tied for 8th in the CA in saves with 9, nailed down the save. San Francisco is now 32-40.
Kingsbury had a timely hit for San Francisco in the top of the ninth. With San Francisco trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-1 sinker into a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 3-2, San Francisco.
