| Chapman in Fine Form in 7-0 Win | The San Francisco Sailors rode a solid performance from 22-year-old starting pitcher Eddie Chapman to a win, beating the Cincinnati Cannons, 7-0, at Golden Gate Stadium. The victory gives San Francisco a record of 56-49.
Chapman, the winning pitcher, goes to 10-4 on the season. In 8 innings, the right-hander limited the opposition to no runs on 4 hits, while recording 7 punchouts. Chapman and the Sailors were able to cruise to victory.
"Eddie was really attacking guys' weaknesses and he didn't leave a lot of balls over the plate," said San Francisco field general Walt Zecher.
