| Slumping Dynamos Lose 8th Straight | Suns left fielder Bill Kearney left his mark on his team's 6-5 win over the Detroit Dynamos. Kearney was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Los Angeles in the contest. Ron Clark picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-2. Charlie Christianson was tagged with the loss. Jack Meeks closed it out for Los Angeles, earning his 1st save.
Had Kearney not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Kearney hit a run-scoring single. The Suns took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.
"We're not going to feel sorry for ourselves," said Detroit skipper Roger Cleaves. "Wouldn't do any good."
With the win over Detroit, the Suns improved to 42-25.
