| Gothams Need Extra Frames to Get Past Clippers | The New York Gothams handed the Baltimore Clippers a 6-5 loss in 11 innings at Gotham Stadium. Tom Brizzolara, who is a three-time All-Star, was the star on offense. He was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was George Libby in relief. The Gothams got a clutch hit from first baseman Paul Church. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Gothams.
