| Kings Down Cougars, 4-1 | The Kansas City Kings defeated the Chicago Cougars, 4-1, in Continental Association action at Prairie Park. Kansas City pitcher Gordon McDonald had a standout performance. McDonald picked up the win for Kansas City, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. Fred Whitt nailed down the save.
Had Harley Dollar not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Dollar hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Kings.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Dollar.
With the win, Kansas City goes to 49-48, while the Cougars fall to 44-54.
