Minutemen Make It 4 Straight with 3-2 Win | In a low-scoring tilt between the Boston Minutemen and the Pittsburgh Miners, 25-year old right-handed pitcher Don Griffin was the difference-maker. The Boston right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Griffin picked up the win for Boston, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 15-6. The 7th-place Minutemen have won 4 in a row.
With Boston leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Griffin hit a fastball from Clay Buddemeyer for a run-scoring double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Minutemen ahead, 3-0.
After the game, Boston manager Bill Freeman applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said. | |
