| Arrows Edged, 4-3, by Los Angeles | Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Los Angeles Stars and Milwaukee Arrows.
The Los Angeles Stars did just enough to nip the Milwaukee Arrows, 4-3, in 11 innings. Los Angeles pitcher George Dunnigan, in particular, had a standout performance. The second-place Stars now sit at 40-24.
Los Angeles needed the clutch hitting of Ed Moore to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Stars on top, 4-2. For the game, Moore had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's not by accident that George finds ways to get outs," said Los Angeles skipper Charley McCullough. | |
