| Keystones Edge Miners, 2-1 | In a well-pitched game between the Philadelphia Keystones and the Pittsburgh Miners, pitcher William Davis was fantastic. The Philadelphia right-hander helped his team secure the win, 2-1. Davis, the winner, moves to 12-9. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 3 walks. Charlie Rushing earned the save, his 16th in 19 tries.
The Keystones got a big at-bat from third baseman Lloyd Coulter. For the game, Coulter was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 42nd home run of the season gave Philadelphia a 2-1 lead.
"I got in a good groove," said Davis. "I was getting some swings and misses."
After today's action, Philadelphia sits at 76-72, while Pittsburgh falls to 73-75.
