| Bowman Surgical in New York Win | New York starter Ed Bowman pitched well against the Chicago Chiefs at Whitney Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-0. At 39-48, the Gothams find themselves in 5th place in the Federal Association.
It was a masterful performance from the popular Bowman, who notched 2 strikeouts in 7.2 innings while allowing 2 hits. Bowman, who finished 3rd in the FA in strikeouts with 122 in 1951, goes to 5-7 on the year with 41 strikeouts.
"I take a professional approach to my job," said Bowman. "I've been around this game for a while."
