At Columbia Stadium, the Los Angeles Suns and Washington Eagles were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Washington Eagles topped the Los Angeles Suns, 4-1, in Federal Association action at Columbia Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Washington pitcher and Oakland, California, native Sam Rodgers. Washington currently is in 5th place in the Federal Association East at 28-31.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth, Ed MacNaughton had a game-changing hit. The Eagles right fielder slammed a 2-run single off Jack Meeks, making the score 4-1, Washington.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Rodgers.
