| Gothams Pick Up 7-5 Win Against Chicago | Behind a solid performance from shortstop Sam Hamilton, the New York Gothams defeated the Chicago Chiefs, 7-5. Hamilton was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Gothams. New York reliever Herb Isom was the winner. His record is now 5-3. The losing pitcher was Frank Carmichael. New York is now 27-28, Chicago 19-39.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the sixth when Hamilton hit a 2-run single. It thrust the Gothams into the lead, 7-5.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Hamilton.
