Los Angeles Gets 4-3 Win Versus San Francisco in 11
Los Angeles and San Francisco got after it at Golden Gate Stadium.

The Los Angeles Stars dealt the San Francisco Sailors a 4-3 loss in 11 innings at Golden Gate Stadium. Joe Cook was the star on offense. He was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. The 4th-place Sailors have lost 4 straight games.

Cook had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a full count fastball from Davey Chamberlain, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Stars a 4-3 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Cook.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Cook told the Los Angeles Daily News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
