| Sailors Lead with Chin, Get KO'd, 9-0 | Herm Quinn of the Cincinnati Cannons spun his magic on the San Francisco Sailors. He blanked them, 9-0, on 2 hits, registering 6 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Quinn said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Cincinnati skipper Charlie Britton said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Herm pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
So far this season, Quinn has logged a 5-4 record with a 2.33 ERA. He has started 13 games, hurled 96.2 innings and registered 58 strikeouts and 27 walks. | |
