The Atlanta Copperheads beat the Houston Comets, 8-7, at Peachtree Stadium. Don Riley, in particular, was impressive. He was 4-6 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Bill Hunn, now 7-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. This win makes it 6 in a row for Atlanta.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Riley hit a fastball from Al Bailey for a run-scoring single. The Copperheads, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Riley described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
