Road Win Lifts Hosho to 2-1 Lead in NCS
The Kobe Bulls got 2 home runs from center fielder Jouta Hayashida but failed to take Game 3 of the BAN Championship Series from the Hosho Reliables. In a nice performance, Hayashida went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice but Hosho took the game by a score of 5-4 and now lead the best-of-7 series, 2-1.

Toshimasa Ikeda dealt the Bulls a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Hosho leading 3-2, Ikeda, who finished 5th in the WL in triples with 7 in 1964, hit a full count sinker for a 2-run single.

"We were the better team," crowed Ikeda.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Matsunoki Stadium in Kobe.
