| Blitzed by Hayashida, Bulls, Reliables Sink Further in NCS | Behind the big bat of center fielder Jouta Hayashida, the Kobe Bulls have opened up a healthy early lead in the BAN Championship Series. The Bulls topped the Hosho Reliables, 5-4, at Matsunoki Stadium in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Hayashida went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 to power Kobe to victory.
Hayashida hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first to help the Kobe cause. The home run, which was hit off Sho Sumi, allowed Kobe to take a 3-0 lead.
"I'm really happy I delivered," said Hayashida. "The pressure is so high up there, it's indescribable. This is the BAN Championship Series."
Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Nagoya Minami Stadium in Nagoya.
