Raucous Stade Montreal Crowd Propels Saints to 8-4 Victory; Series Tied at 1
Behind a bravura effort from starter Ted Mickiewicz, the Montreal Saints topped the Chicago Chiefs by the score of 8-4 and got their first win in the 1970 World Championship Series. Mickiewicz threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the Saints. The win moves Montreal into a 1-1 tie with Chicago.

The game hung in the balance with no one out in the top of the eighth. The score was 3-2, Saints. But Chicago had the bases empty. The Saints needed an out. Tom Spruill stepped into the box with a chance to deliver. Instead, he struck out.

Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at Whitney Park in Chicago.
