| BAN Championship Series Game 1 Goes to Kobe, Thanks to Osaki | Masu Osaki has been in plenty of pressure situations during a 14-year baseball career, so a tight Game 1 in the BAN Championship Series didn't faze him.
The 37-year-old Kobe shortstop dealt enough damage against the Hosho Reliables pitching staff at Matsunoki Stadium to help Kobe move one game closer to a title. Osaki went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once as the Bulls took the 3-2 win. With it, Kobe holds a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Osaki hit a fastball from Shihei Saito for a solo home run, putting Kobe up, 3-0.
"You never want to start a series with a loss, but I saw a lot of good things today," Reliables manager Shun Kawamura said. "I'm not worrying. Yet."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Matsunoki Stadium in Kobe.
