Owls Hammered by Smith, Drop Game 2 to Bulls
Kobe first baseman Shun Smith was the difference-maker for the Bulls in what turned into a shootout with the Kyoto Owls. Smith earned accolades after going 2-for-3 in the 10-4 Bulls win. With the victory, the Bulls moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.

Kobe took control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Jouta Hayashida hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Bulls.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Smith said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played for Thursday, October 8th , 1970 at Owls Park in Kyoto.
