Nishimura Blasts Bulls, Owls Take Game 1, 6-3
The Kyoto Owls started the BAN Championship Series in style, winning on the road against the Kobe Bulls at Matsunoki Stadium by a score of 6-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Owls first baseman Seisaku Nishimura excelled. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2.

Bungo Arai went 1 for 3 against the Bulls. With the game tied in the top of the seventh inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Kyoto in front, 4-3.

Bulls manager Shojiro Tasaka did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the BAN Championship Series."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Matsunoki Stadium in Kobe.
