The home crowd had a good time watching the New York Gothams and Chicago Chiefs get after it.

Chicago third baseman Ed Bloom was a significant contributor in his team's 18-5 triumph over the New York Gothams. He went 4-6 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Chiefs. The Chiefs bumped their record to 51-51 with this win.

In the bottom of the first inning, first baseman Mickey Tucker had a grand slam home run for Chicago. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Chiefs on top, 6-2.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Tucker told the Chicago Bulletin. "You win just by scoring more runs."
