Imperials Get Close Win Over Wolves, 6-5
Toronto catcher Jim Brooks had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Brooks was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, even as New York beat the Wolves, 6-5. At 6-3, the Imperials have played well so far.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 29-year old third baseman George Love had a chance to be the hero. Toronto pitcher Frank Carmichael wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Love drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Imperials had themselves a thrilling win.

"Nice win," said Love. "Not sure what else you want me to say."
