Thomas has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Cuban Winter League Most Valuable Player.
"I didn't expect to hit .376 this year, that's for sure," the second baseman said.
The Camagüey Coyotes star also put up a .439 on-base percentage this year, with 67 hits, 13 doubles, 6 triples, 13 home runs, 44 RBIs and 46 runs scored.
He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 8. Happy Wright of the Santiago Scorpions finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Jerry Keith of the Holguín Hawks finished third.
