1951 Best Player Picked By CWL
Wednesday, February 6th , 1952
At the age of 24, Moe Holt of the Havana Sharks could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 1951 was good enough to win the second baseman the Cuban Winter League Most Valuable Player.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .379 batting average this year, as well as a .460 on-base percentage. He played 42 games and racked up 61 hits, 14 doubles, 3 triples, 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and 42 runs scored.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jim Allen of the Manzanillo Palms finished second in voting, while John Low of the Santa Clara Stallions finished third.
