Denver Beats Omaha in Round 1

The Denver Bruins ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Omaha Plainsmen 5-0 to win the Round 1.

Denver won the series 4-2, capturing the title for the 4th time.

"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Denver manager Ben Tamura. "It's a great feeling."

The champs finished the regular season 81-59 and claimed first place in the Century League.

In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and left fielder Dave Kaiser said the Bruins have "great fans and they deserve this."

"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
