| Agnew 5-for-5 for Roughnecks Friday, August 23rd , 1974 It was a good day at Sioux City Grounds. The Tulsa Roughnecks whipped the Little Rock Governors, 5-4, and first baseman Ted Agnew showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-5 at the plate.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," Agnew told BNN reporters after the game.
Roughnecks manager Tony Godfrey told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 24-year-old "focused and patient."
"It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Ted hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."
Ted Agnew singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and doubled in the 11th.
This year, Agnew is hitting .308 with 5 home runs and 39 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .370 clip and scored 47 runs.
