 | Joe Elbert Calls It a Career Friday, August 25th , 1916 Joe Elbert may be retiring from professional baseball, but don't expect him to sit still. The Syracuse Salt Barons second baseman today announced that this season will be his last. But at age 38, he still has big plans for the future. "I'm looking forward to traveling and seeing the world outside of Eastern Association parks. I also want to start taking up some new hobbies and maybe start up a new business, too," he said. "I'm going to enjoy my retirement." |   |
