| Braud Struts Stuff in Win Over Albany Friday, August 4th , 1916 The Albany Legislators were almost helpless in their 2-0 loss to the Syracuse Salt Barons and hurler Carl Braud. Braud kept the Legislators confused all game, spinning a 6-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Braud," Albany manager Lew Bryant said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 33-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 3 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Braud said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
This season, Braud has worked 41.1 innings with 14 strikeouts en route to a 3-1 record and a 3.27 ERA. | | |
