Dyer Befuddles Albany in 1-0 Syracuse Win
Monday, April 16th , 1917
Marty Dyer was in a mood to talk following the Syracuse Salt Barons contest against the Albany Legislators, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Legislators, 1-0.

"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Dyer said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."

The right-hander blanked Albany on a 8-hitter, allowing no walks and racking up no strikeouts.
