 | Season May Be Over for Lake Captains Fontenot Wednesday, April 11th , 1917 Lawrence Fontenot of the Lake Captains just might have to call it quits for the season. The 22-year-old Buffalo right fielder received a possible season-ending injury against the Newark Foundrymen recently at Harbor View Grounds. Fontenot suffered a ruptured medial collateral ligament while running the bases. The Lake Captains medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 10 months. This year, Fontenot is batting .318 with 7 hits and no home runs. He has scored 0 times and has batted in 4 runs. |   |
