| Moritz Shuts Out Providence, 4-0 Tuesday, April 10th , 1917 John Moritz of the Jersey City Sparrows humiliated the Providence Clippers at Hudson Park, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 8 hits.
"He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Providence manager Bill Price, after the game.
Moritz whiffed 4 and walked 5 in the 4-0 win.
"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Moritz said. "I was making good pitches the entire game." | | |
