 | Sims Makes it Official, Will Retire Saturday, September 2nd , 1916 It's a somber day for Red Caps fans as Larry Sims announced that he will retire at the end of the 1916 season. The Indianapolis third baseman attributed his retirement to his age and loss of skills. "I'm not the type of player I want to be anymore," he said. "It's harder go out there and be competitive. I'm not at the end of my rope yet, but I've seen guys hang around too long. I'm not going to be one of them." |   |
